UNHCR Chief Pays Heartfelt Tribute To HM The King For Peace Initiatives

The UN High Commissioner for Refugees Antonio Guterres paid a heartfelt tribute to HM King Mohammed VI for his peace initiatives worldwide, including the new migration and asylum policy launched by the sovereign.

"We want to express our admiration for HM the King's peace initiatives around the world and which are important for the UNHCR," Guterres told the press after a meeting with minister delegate for foreign affairs Mbarka Bouaida.

He lauded the close, very positive and constructive cooperation of the Moroccan government by allowing the UNHCR to support the dynamic of development taking place in Morocco in a pillar of the international system regarding the protection of refugees.

This dynamic was triggered thanks to the reform of the asylum and migration system initiated by the sovereign, the UN official said.
