COVID-19: Over 176,000 People Receive 3rd Dose (Health Ministry)

A total of 176,594 people have received the third COVID-19 vaccine dose, six days after the launch of this operation, the Ministry of Health said on Saturday.

A total of 23,023,859 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 20,098,752, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.

A total of 515 new COVID-19 cases and 845 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours.

The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 938,801, while recoveries rise to 917,169, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.7%.

The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (191), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (161), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (38), Marrakech-Safi (21), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (20), Eastern Region (20), Fez-Meknes (15), Guelmim-Oued Noun (15), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (14), Souss-Massa (09), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (08) and Draa-Tafilalet (03).

As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,443 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 16 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (05), Souss-Massa (03), Marrakech-Safi (02), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (02), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (01), Eastern Region (01), Fez-Meknes (01) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (01).

The number of active cases stands at 7,189, including 636 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
