Colombian Paper Highlights HM the king's Significant Role in Promoting Tolerance & Moderation

Colombia’s daily paper "El Nuevo Siglo" highlighted HM King Mohammed VI’s significant role in promoting the values of tolerance and religious moderation, adding that the kingdom has been through history a land of openness and dialogue between religions.

In his capacity as Commander of the Faithful, HM King Mohammed VI is "a promoter of tolerance and religious moderation," underlined, Monday, the author of the article in a feature on Morocco entitled “Gateway to Africa.”

After noting that the Sovereign is constantly advocating a speech of tolerance and understanding between religions, the journalist added that the role of HM the king in fostering tolerance and interreligious dialogue is internationally recognized.

Morocco has been through history a land of peace and dialogue, he pointed out, recalling in this regard the visit paid by Pope John Paul II to Morocco in 1985.

The Kingdom, the cradle of Al-Qarawiyyin University, which had among its students since the Middle Age famous people such as Averroes and Maimonides, “can bring a great deal to our culture,” said the Colombian journalist.
